Small Business Size Standards
PMI supports the participation of small businesses in federal contracting and subcontracting opportunities. Certain U.S. Government-funded programs may include requirements or goals for the utilization of qualified small business suppliers.
To be considered a small business for federal contracting purposes, a company must meet the applicable size standard established by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Size standards vary by industry and are generally based on factors such as the company's average annual receipts or number of employees, as defined by its North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.
Businesses seeking to qualify as a small business should review SBA regulations and determine eligibility based on the NAICS code associated with the products or services they provide.

PMI encourages prospective suppliers to verify their eligibility and maintain current registrations and certifications, where applicable, before pursuing contracting opportunities. Of particular importance to PMI’s suppliers are the rules set forth in 13 CFR 121.404(e), 121.410, and 121.411.
